Hi I'm Karsten
A juvenile copperband butterflyfish, Chelmon rostratus.
Plants and animals fascinate me, and I hope to share some of my discoveries with you! From botany to entomology, everything that makes me stop and get excited will show up on this site.
With a passion for aquatic ecology, I'm usually by the water keeping an eye out for interesting or invasive species.
I aim to write informative blog posts as a mix between my experience in the area and and an identification guide on the interesting things I come across. I also have a couple of videos series filmed in Central Australia:
- foraging for the wild-foods of Australia, and
- finding a range of Australian animals.
These are virtual reality 360° videos, and viewing them through a VR headset will give you the best experience.
I also enjoy photography and am always on the quest to get a better animal photo, which I occasionally post on Instagram.
